Babama teşekkür etmeyi öğretirdi, bizi bir yere götürdüğü zaman, bize bir şey aldığı zaman sırayla ‘Teşekkür ederiz babacım’ derdik. Gittiğimiz bir yerde yanlış bir şey yaptığımız zaman gözlerini büyütürdü, konuşmasa da biz anlardık. Belli ki yanlış bir şey yapmıştık, toparlanırdık. Arkadaşlarla sinema ama duygusal bağ kurduğum bir insanda dahil olunca işin içine, sarı tokalarımı eteğimin rengine uydurmuştu, hala unutamıyorum.

Ben hiç sevmezdim, bugün bile çok nadir ister canım. Ama ‘Ben yemek istemiyorum’ demek ne mümkün, ‘Bunu bulamayanlar var, büyümeniz için lazım’ diye babamla el birliğiyle konuşmaya başladıklarında o nutukları dinlemek yemekten daha zor gelirdi, ağzımı hiç açamazdım. Söz konusu kompozisyon ödevleriyse önümüzde ansiklopedilerle geceye kadar araştırma yapardık birlikte. A4 kağıdında satırları yamuk yazardım, altına bir çizgili kağıt koyar, yeniden yazdırırdı. Çok sinirlenirdim ama ertesi gün okumak için tahtaya kalktığımda yazdığım yazıya güvenir, panoya asılacağını mutlaka bilirdim. Yalan söylediğimizi gözümüzden anlardı, hiç başaramazdık onu kandırmayı. Ergenlik dönemimde arkadaşlarımla dershaneyi asıp adaya kaçardım, ablam delirirdi beni idare etmek için. Eve sessizce girince, annem yüzüme bile bakmazdı. Keşke kızsa bağırsa, küsünce daha kötü diye düşünür, pişman olur bir daha yapmazdım. Babamla baş başa dışarı çıkacakları özel günlerde plan yapardık. Buse ve bana en sevdiğimiz pizzadan söylerlerdi, Barbie’nin Fındıkkıran Balesi filmini izlerdik. Sonunu hep bilirdik ama hiç sıkılmazdık. Kutladığım ilk sevgililer günü elbisemi annemle birlikte seçip almıştım, ilk kez ayrılık acısıyla tanıştığımda, yine annemin dizinde ağlamıştım. İlk kız kavgamda, moralim çok bozuk olduğunda yine onunla konuşup, ona sığınmıştım. İtalya’dan elimle birincilik plaketiyle döndüğümde, otobüs okulun yanındaki virajı geçtiğinde, gözlerim onu aramıştı. En önde, elimde ödülümle, benimle gurur duysun diye heyecanla yerimi almıştım. ‘Yılın Örnek Öğrencisi’ ödülü için adım anons edildiğinde, o kalabalık içinde yine annemi bulmaktı amacım. Üniversiteyi kazandığımı yanına ağlayarak gittiğimde sarılarak söylemiş, gelen ayrılığa rağmen, yine onun omzunda yeni hayatımı karşılamıştım.
Bugün 23 yaşında bir kadın olarak yine canım acıdığına ‘Anne’ diye ağlıyorum. Başardığım her şey, onun onayı varsa tamam oluyor.
